Well folks, it’s finally here: the final episode… OF THE YEAR. We decided to give you one final AKOP before we take a break, and what an episode it is! We take a look back at the last 12 months and make some arbitrary power rankings for our favourite films, games, worst things, and best discoveries. Space Operas & Guardians of the Galaxy

Alex Bowman & Jesse Gelinas return to team-up with Earl & Shawn for Guardians of the Galaxy! They get into some of the space opera fiction they’ve seen, how to make a Hulk movie, breakout wrestlers, their thoughts on the rollicking sci-fi blockbuster, and squabble over things like Sailor Moon. And along the way, Alex conflates Jar Jar with Hitler, Jesse gets mad over Firefly, Shawn reminisces on the classic film Flesh Gordon, and Earl casts Wolverine in the next season of Orange is the New Black.

Covering Comic-Con 2014

This week, Eric Houstoun joins Earl and Shawn to talk all about San Diego Comic-Con! They get into all the upcoming films getting hyped up, the ire over Batman vs. Superman and Ant-Man, and how an Evil Dead TV series could ever work. They also dive into Eric’s favourite comic books, Hellboy, his indirect run-in with Guillermo del Toro, and what else he’s checking out. And along the way, Earl discovers kid killing is a recurring theme in comic books, Shawn learns his references are lost on many, and Eric compares the Fantastic Four to Everybody Loves Raymond.
