In the early days of the podcast we joked about writing a book, and finally Brent can explain why… because he and Tony did just that! Earl and Shawn talk to him about their new novel Coranox, its influences & history, and what they plan to do with it. They also get into anime, why they’ve moved on from the genre, and some of their favourites growing up. And along the way, Brent shows pain at every mention of anime now, Earl brags about actual design work, and Shawn reveals his childhood trauma of picking the wrong anime at the rental store.

This week, Eric Houstoun joins Earl and Shawn to talk all about San Diego Comic-Con! They get into all the upcoming films getting hyped up, the ire over Batman vs. Superman and Ant-Man, and how an Evil Dead TV series could ever work. They also dive into Eric’s favourite comic books, Hellboy, his indirect run-in with Guillermo del Toro, and what else he’s checking out. And along the way, Earl discovers kid killing is a recurring theme in comic books, Shawn learns his references are lost on many, and Eric compares the Fantastic Four to Everybody Loves Raymond.
