Early Adopters & Summer Blockbusters

On this episode we take it easy and do a two-fer episode for y’all! It’s been a crazy summer for us, and in the theatres, so we get to talking about all of the summer blockbusters we’ve seen or failed to see, as well as revisit some of the ones we talked about in older episodes. Also, we get into the new phone announcements from Samsung and Apple, and dig into the idea of early adopters. And along the way, Shawn explains his Cartman impression, and Earl tries to break out of his need for structure.

Our first guest on the new format, Curtis Roberts, joins Earl and Shawn to talk about growing up gaming! They get into their favourite RPGs, accidentally breaking consoles, blocky controllers, switching to PCs, and their thoughts on RPGs these days. This week we’re talking about the Final Fantasy series! With FFXIV in full swing, and Lightning Returns now released, Earl brings in Brent and Tony to talk about the long-running game series, with Stephen jumping on-board a little later. They talk about Tony’s involvement with the Official Strategy Guide, Brent’s impression of the updated MMO, among a ton of other things.
